Built in 2 phases, this impressive development in the centre of Hammersmith, London features a double basement commercial car park, that serves the adjacent Shopping Centre, which presented a significant engineering challenge given the immediate proximity of London Underground (LUL) tracks for the District and Piccadilly lines. The ground movement restrictions imposed by LUL significantly impacted the design and construction solutions and sequences for the basement structures.
Phase 1 rises 17 storeys above ground level with Phase 2 up to 15 storeys.
Hartcher Consulting Engineers, prior and subsequent to the merger with Demlakian Consulting Engineers, in partnership with Patrick Parsons, carried out the permanent structural design as well as temporary works design including slipform of the cores for the taller blocks on behalf of the contractor, Joseph Gallagher Limited.
